Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua: All-British heavyweight mega-fight 'signed, sealed and delivered' for 2026

Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury are set to meet in their long-awaited heavyweight mega-fight later this year.

and then meet his great rival Fury.

Eddie Hearn, Joshua's promoter, posted on social media: "Signed, sealed and delivered! AJ vs Fury is on!"

He described it as "the biggest piece of business we've ever done but more importantly the one we've always wanted.

"Biggest year of AJ's career coming up, the comeback is on."

Fury called out Joshua after his points victory over Arslanbek Makhmudov at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium earlier this month and revealed that he had .

Ring Magazine announced the fight was a "done deal" and would take place in "Q4, 2026" in a social media post on Monday.

Hearn previously told Your Site that November was the date they were targeting for Joshua's fight with Fury after his July comeback bout.

Joshua and Fury, two of the biggest names in British boxing, have circled one another for the best part of a decade. Fury first became a heavyweight world champion when he upset Wladimir Klitschko a decade ago. Joshua turned professional after winning Olympic gold at London 2012 and rocketed through the pro ranks.

But by the time Joshua picked up his first world title belt in 2016, Fury had stepped away from the sport.

Fury would eventually return and beat Deontay Wilder to become the WBC world champion. Joshua held the unified IBF, WBO and WBA championships and the two were close to fighting in an undisputed heavyweight championship fight.

It was not to be, Fury boxed a third fight with Wilder instead and Joshua lost to Oleksandr Usyk. The Ukrainian also defeated Fury, who retired again at the start of last year.

When Fury returned to beat Makhmudov in London earlier this month, Joshua was waiting for the all-clear to resume full training after sustaining injuries in a terrible accident in which two of his close friends and members of his team lost their lives. Joshua is now in camp working with his former rival Usyk, who has backed AJ to beat Fury.

With one more hurdle to clear for Joshua, Kristian Prenga on July 25, the two rivals will finally box in the most richly anticipated heavyweight bout the UK will have ever seen.

The exact date and location of the contest is yet to be confirmed but hopes will be high for another British stadium fight.

Your Site Boxing expert Andy Scott says:

"If you go to each part of this deal, everyone is saying the same thing: that Anthony Joshua will fight Tyson Fury this year.

"I've spoken to Spencer Brown from Gold Star promotions - who represents Tyson Fury - and he says 'go ahead and confirm it'.

"Tyson Fury came back successfully from his own retirement - he confirmed after the Arslanbek Makhmudov fight that he had signed his part of the deal.

"There was a little bit of disappointment that Joshua didn't join him in the ring and confirm that fight on the night.

"According to Turki, Spencer Brown, and Eddie Hearn that fight is done.

"There are lots of things still to go through. There isn't a confirmed venue, and AJ still needs to go through his own comeback fight. Brown has confirmed that it's a two-fight deal.

"I don't know if they're pulling my leg here, but I'm hearing that Turki has stipulated that Dua Lipa needs to perform at the fight! If you're listening, Dua, clear your diary!

"We aren't there yet - but we are very close now. AJ needs to come through his next fight, and then all roads lead to Joshua vs Fury next year."
