Brentford in talks over 39m Bundesliga winger

Latest from Your Site News' Lyall Thomas:

Brentford are in talks with FC Koln over the potential signing of Said El Mala.

They have made an offer but are still waiting to hear the outcome from the German club.

A bid of almost 39m has actually been on the table for some time.

El Mala has emerged as a top winger target for Brentford - but they do have others they would be ready to move on to if nothing is agreed.

Putellas to leave Barcelona for London City Lionesses

Barcelona have confirmed captain Alexia Putellas is leaving the club.

The Spain international is set to join London City Lionesses during the summer transfer window.

Rangers complete Shankland deal from Hearts

Rangers have signed striker Lawrence Shankland from Hearts.

He has put pen to paper on a two-year deal, with the option of a further 12 months.

Shankland will be with the Scotland team for the World Cup and then return to join up with Danny Rohls squad.

His Hearts exit comes just 12 months on from signing a three-year deal at Tynecastle Park.

While the clubs have outlined this move is for an undisclosed fee, it is understood Rangers have taken advantage of a clause in that contract to land him this summer and the move will go through when the transfer window opens on June 15.

Shankland scored 88 goals in 171 games for Hearts, including 16 in the league last season as they just missed out on a historic Scottish Premiership title on the final day of the season to Celtic.

Man City continuing Maresca talks

Latest from Your Site News' Lyall Thomas:

Manchester City are continuing talks with Enzo Maresca this week about succeeding Pep Guardiola.

Contrary to reports, all the points of a proposed three-year contract are not yet fully agreed.

However, a contract is expected to be finalised in the coming days, as discussions centre around the timeline of his appointment, the make-up of his backroom staff, and other finer details.

City have announced today that two more of Guardiola's assistants - Pep Ljinders and Kolo Toure - are leaving the Etihad.

Maresca, who left Chelsea in acrimonious circumstances in January, still had three-and-a-half years left on hi contract there - and club lawyers will be taking a keen interest in his next move, as compensation may well be due.

Chelsea were informed by Maresca last autumn that he had been the subject of interest from City about eventually replacing Guardiola when he decided to leave, having worked under him as assistant coach during the 2022/23 season.

Former West Ham captain Rice took to Instagram on Tuesday and said: "I'm absolutely gutted to see West Ham relegated. A club that really does mean so much to me.

"As I said before, I wouldn't be where I am today without everything the club has done for me.

"With that being said, I have no doubt they'll be back where they belong in the Premier League in no time. I'll be supporting always."

Inverness announce Shinnie return

Inverness Caledonian Thistle have announced that Graeme Shinnie will return to the club on a two-year deal.

Shinnie will leave Aberdeen at the end of his contract after a break down in talks regarding a new contract.

The 34-year-old returns to Inverness having made 187 appearances for the club during his first stint before joining the Dons in 2015.

Its a full-circle moment for me, Shinnie told the club's website.

I started my career here and have some really good memories. Its the club where I made my debut, came through as a young boy and, obviously, leaving by winning the Scottish Cup was the perfect way to end it.

Now Im back, it is a great feeling, and one that Im really excited for. Its good to be back and Im really looking forward to the football.
