Ibrahima Konate is set to leave Liverpool after five years at Anfield.

The 27-year-old had been in talks with the club about extending his contract but could not find common ground when it came to signing a new deal and is now set to walk away for free.

Konate has been linked with a number of sides across Europe since the turn of the year but has yet to decide on his next move.

Konate has made 181 appearances since his arrival from RB Leipzig, winning a Premier League, an FA Cup and two Carabao Cups. 

Gordon completes Barcelona medical

Anthony Gordon has finished his medical and is with his family and agents in Barcelona, where he will stay overnight.

The formal parts of Gordon's Barcelona move are scheduled for Friday, including official photographs and the signing of his five-year contract.

Barcelona have agreed a 69.3m deal to sign the Newcastle forward, beating out interest from Bayern Munich.

Barcelona have indicated they are ready to make him a formal offer and Atletico are preparing one too after talks with him this week. 

The player is set to have a huge decision to make - but as Your Site News reported previously, one source is insisting it is his dream to play for Barca. 

They were interested three years ago when his previous contract at Manchester City was expiring - but he re-signed and stayed.

Allegri set to take over at Napoli

Massimiliano Allegri is set to become Napolis next head coach, according to Sky Italy.

An agreement was reached on Thursday between Allegri and Napoli, with the former AC Milan and Juventus manager expected to replace Antonio Conte following his departure after two years in charge.

Allegri has moved ahead of Vincenzo Italiano in the running for the role, with a two-year deal agreed in principle.

Napoli are now waiting for Allegri and AC Milan to finalise the termination of his contract before he is free to sign.

Lucas Podolski has retired from football age 40 and become the owner of Polish club Gornik Zabrze.

He just led Gornik Zabrze to the Polish Cup - their first trophy in 38 years - last weekend and they finished runner's up in the Polish league. 

The ex Arsenal, Bayern Munich and Germany great has followed his last game by acquiring the 86 per cent majority share-hold of the club. 

He said on LinkedIn: "Thats it. My last game.

"I can only thank all of you from the bottom of my heart. Im lost for words today This goodbye is incredibly hard for me, because I loved this game and the time with you fans with all my heart. 

"For me, football was never just a job, it was always pure love, passion, and hard work on the streets and in the stadium.

"A huge thank you to my family, my friends, my teammates, and the whole staff in the offices behind the scenes.. Thank you for this amazing surprise and this unforgettable day.

"And above all, thank you to you the fans. You are unbelievable! To be able to close the circle right here means everything to me. It was an honour. Yours, Poldi. 10"

Podolski was born in Poland but moved to Germany, with whom he won the 2014 World Cup, when he was two-years-old. 

Notts County release three after play-off triumph

Notts County have released their retained list following their promotion to Sky Bet League One last weekend.

Keanan Bennetts, Jack Hinchy and Ollie Norburn will leave the club when their contracts expire at the end of June.

Tyrese Hall, Tom Iorpenda, Jayden Luker and Harald Nilsen Tangen will return to their parent clubs.

The club has confirmed it has made contract extension offers to Lewis Macari and Rod McDonald.

Dundee Utd sign Tait

Dundee United have signed midfielder Dylan Tait on a free transfer.

The 24-year-old former Raith Rovers and Hibernian player has agreed a three-year contract after turning down a new deal with Falkirk.

United manager Jim Goodwin said: Dylan is a player weve admired for a long time and somebody we believe is perfectly suited to the way we want to play.

There was significant interest in Dylan from elsewhere, so were naturally delighted hes chosen Dundee United for the next stage of his career."
